Eucharist

Our worship at St James’ centres on the Eucharist. In the Eucharist (or Holy Communion) we hear readings from the Bible, we pray and we share the bread and wine as Jesus taught his followers to at the Last Supper. The Eucharist is our core act of worship.

Sundays

08.00 am : A quiet, said service, lasting about 30 minutes. 1st and 3rd Sundays
10.45 am : A service with music and a sermon included. There are activities for children in our Sunday School and we serve coffee and biscuits afterwards. This is a friendly service and there’s always someone to chat with and to help you join in.

Tuesdays

10.00 am : A quiet service, lasting about 30 minutes. An oasis of peace and calm in the middle of the week

Friday Church – church on a Friday!

18.30 pm : This is a family service which lasts about an hour and includes songs, games, Bible stories, craft and activities. It’s informal and it’s fun!

Please ask about it when you come to visit or contact: Marjorie Charnley (01254) 233608 and Kay Heathcote (01706) 217055

  • The Eucharist is also celebrated on Feast Days throughout the year – please ask, contact us, or have a look at our Facebook page for announcements
  • The Communion and Oils for Anointing is available from the Parish Priest at any hour
